The Importance of Play and Routine for Your Toddler

Toddler playtime necessary

We are passionate about children, and helping each child maximize their potential. That is the essence of Partners in Child Development with our three programs:

  1. Early Intervention Services for infants to children age three who are at risk of or not meeting developmental milestones. We serve both the Greater Lowell area and the Greater Lawrence area including Andover, North Andover, Methuen and Lawrence.
  2. Anderson School – our approved special education school in Andover, MA for students with complex medical needs
  3. Woodbridge School, our early child development school in Andover, MA for children 18 months to five years old locations

From birth to age three, a child’s brain is at a critical time for growth and development. These are amazing years in a child’s life and for their families as well! For toddlers, children ages 2 to 3 years old, play and routine are so important to their growth an development. Toddlers thrive in routine and learn so much from interacting with their peers and following simple instructions.

That is why we offer to families in our communities including Andover, North Andover, Methuen, and Lawrence our Toddler Playgroups program. These Toddler Playgroups are open to any family and child for their child to learn and develop through playing in a safe, nurturing, and welcoming environment.

“Play is the foundation of learning for young children and is essential and vital for a toddler’s brain development. Play stimulates cognitive growth, supporting language development while enhancing problem solving and encouraging creativity.”
Aimee Phleger, Early Intervention Group/LEA Transition Coordinator

Flexible for the Family

Families can choose how many days per week they want the child to attend (from 1 to 5 with two days a week being our most popular choice) with morning sessions 2.5 hours and afternoon sessions being 2 hours long. We offer morning and afternoon options and prorate the cost for families joining during our sessions which are Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall.

Children gain social and emotional skills including separating and interacting with their peers while developing language and motor skills. Toddlers readily adapt to learning through routines such as circle time, snack time, music, sensory and motor time, and story time.

“Thank you for having Nina in Toddler Playgroup for the last year. She has come home every day and asked to return ASAP. There is nothing more we could have asked for in her first school experience. You and your staff have created such a safe and welcoming environment and we have been fortunate to be a part of it.”
