Early Intervention Services Highlighted in Boston Parent Article

Comfort and Security

Boston Parent has shared an article, “Stuffies Provide Comfort and Security,” by Ellen McGrail Waddill, Early Intervention’s Parent Liaison at Partners in Child Development.

The article focuses on the importance of stuffed animals for children. The benefits children can gain include physical, emotional, and nurturing support. Their stuffed animal can help children feel safe, secure, and cared for.

A comfortable transition away from familiar places or people also may be assisted by having a transition object like a stuffed animal. Children often will find independence with a little help from their stuffed friend. Having that support when a child is worried about a new environment may very well make for a happy outcome.

“A plushie can give a child the comfort of having something familiar in a new environment,” Jordan Taylor, a Developmental Specialist also from Early Intervention, explains.

We are thrilled to be able to share our expertise with the Boston Parent audience!
