As a first-time mom I thought I was doing everything I could, and my child was just a little behind, which she is. I was hesitant about admitting to myself that she would benefit from extra help with Early Intervention Services. Because, in a way, I felt defeated. Worrying that I didn’t do enough and thinking that there might be something “wrong” with my daughter was overwhelming.

There’s nothing wrong with Lyra — she just needs a little extra support to reach her developmental goals. That’s exactly what Early Intervention Services has been providing for our family. EI therapists and professionals are experts in child development. So, it only makes sense to let them share their knowledge with us, so we can better support Lyra. Getting involved with EI has been one of the best decisions we’ve made. The EI team has been incredible at helping us understand how Lyra learns best.
For Lyra it is music. Most of her first words she has learned through songs. I thought she simply enjoyed music; I didn’t make the connection that she is getting educated by it as well. Encouraging more communication has been an outcome we have been working toward. If I can communicate with my child in any way, it’s an achievement for both of us.
I know my child best, I spend every minute of every day with her. EI professionals have the experience and understanding of children with all different needs. Mix us together and you have the perfect team helping a child in the best way possible.

The specialists from Early Intervention Services are willing to help, with their knowledge, tools, and support – Take it! There is nothing wrong with a helping hand for either of you. I hope more parents feel less apprehensive about receiving help for their child and are more confident and prouder that they’re doing the best they can. The educators and therapists from Early Intervention Services have helped me understand, there is nothing wrong with my child, she is perfect!
A parent or caregiver can reach out to Early Intervention Services to discuss your developmental concerns for a child. A medical referral is not necessary.
Getting Started is as Easy as 1,2,3.
