Most Early Intervention Services take place in a family’s home. It is our privilege to coach parents and caregivers on how to integrate skills and strategies into their daily routines. By working with a child and family in their own environment, we can use familiar toys and everyday activities to support and achieve a child’s developmental goals.

We are committed to making every home visit even more meaningful and supportive for families. Leslie Siciliano, Developmental Specialist and Director of our Greater Lowell Early Intervention Services, together with Cara McAuliffe, Child Life Specialist and Team Leader, offer five tips for getting the most out of a home visit:
- The family leads the way with play and routines. Your Early Intervention professional is there to support you as your child’s first and most important teacher.
- Let us join in during tricky moments. Challenging routines are great learning opportunities; we are here to help.
- Come with questions. Anything you are curious or worried about—bring it up.
- Want to try a new activity? Tell your Early Intervention Services professional. We will help you get started.
- Enjoy the time together. Home visits should feel helpful, comfortable, and fun for your whole family.
During home visits, Early Intervention Services professionals partner with families to build confidence in parenting skills and connect them with helpful community resources.

It is nice to develop a close relationship with our specialist and to count on them as an additional resource. We highly recommend taking advantage of this service if your child needs it!” — Jessica, mom, Andover, MA
