“When Wyatt started Early Intervention, he didn’t speak. With Jordan’s help, he began signing basic needs. It wasn’t long after that the words slowly started coming. Jordan not only helped Wyatt get to where he is, she helped us. She taught us how to communicate with Wyatt using basic signs, creating routines and suggesting we print pictures of his favorite foods to create magnets on our fridge. By the time Wyatt graduated from EI, he could string 5/6 word sentences. He could recite his favorite books and songs to us and we no longer needed those magnets on the fridge. It was bittersweet taking them down.”
