For over fifty years, Partners in Child Development has worked with families in Northeastern Massachusetts to improve the lives and educational gains of thousands of children with special needs. Our staff bring a variety of educational backgrounds and experiences to our team. Many hold undergraduate degrees in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, Child Development, and Nursing, while others hold graduate degrees in Social Work, Speech Language Pathology, Occupational Therapy and doctorates in Physical Therapy.

Social Worker (Family Worker) - Lawrence

The Job
The Social Worker (Family Worker) working in the Greater Lawrence area is a member of a multi-disciplinary team working in Lawrence, Methuen, North Andover, Andover, and the greater Lowell area provides in-home and childcare center EI services for children ages 0-3 who have or are at risk for developmental delays or have a diagnosed disability. The Social Worker (Family Worker) provides therapeutic support addressing social, emotional, and behavioral challenges for the child and family. Assesses risk factors such as parental mental illness, substance abuse, domestic and/or community violence.
This position participates in evaluations, interventions, and development of the Individual Family Service plan (IFSP) for children and their families.
Job Requirements
- Master’s degree required. Must hold MA current licensure as a LCSW, LICSW, LMFT, LMHC, LMFT or LMHC license-eligible with proof of license eligibility.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a pediatric setting working with children under the age of 5. Experience working with children with developmental delays or disabilities preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of developmental milestones and delays in children, as well as the impact of emotional, behavioral, and neurological disabilities on the child’s functioning and development.
- Current, valid driver’s license and the ability to provide proof of insurance coverage for travel between home visits.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

The Job
The Speech & Language Pathologist (SLP) is a member of a multi-disciplinary team that provides interventions to children and families in the EI Program. The SLP screens for the risk or presence of speech, language, cognitive communication, and feeding/swallowing difficulties in child’s daily activities, home/community and advises on alternatives consistent with their needs and capabilities. The SLP contributes to the development of the Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP) including strategies and family outcomes to address the child’s individual needs.
The SLP provides services to clients through coordination and collaboration with team members, public/private and community service providers.
Job Requirements
- Master’s degree required. Must hold current licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist issued by the MA Board of Registration in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology and a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) granted by the American Speech, Language and Hearing Association.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a pediatric setting working with children under the age of 5.
- Experience working with children with developmental delays or disabilities preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of developmental milestones and delays in children, as well as the impact of emotional, behavioral, and neurological disabilities on the child’s functioning and development. Must be flexible and adaptable in administering therapy.

The Job
The Physical Therapist (PT) as a member of a multi-disciplinary team providing in-home and childcare center EI services for children ages 0-3 who have or are at risk for developmental delays or have a diagnosed disability. The PT will work in the Greater Lowell area and participate in in-home services as well as at childcare centers and providers. The PT develops individualized treatment plans to address gross/fine motor delays and sensory processing disorders. Plans may include exercises, stretches, and therapeutic activities designed to improve mobility, motor function social/emotional development and reduce the risk of future injuries. The PT contributes to the development of the Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP) including strategies and family outcomes to address the child’s individual needs.
The PT provides services to clients through coordination and collaboration with team members, public/private and community service providers.
